Miguel has organized throughout the years many aeronautical courses, conferences, air races and celebrations, such as the First Centenary of flight in Mallorca, or the First Centenary of the Salvador Hedilla’s flight from mainland Spain to Mallorca.
He has also fought to increase international ties with different European aeroclubs by organizing brotherhood events, and for the first time in Mallorca 15 planes from the RAF AeroClub Lydd in the south of England gathered at Son Bonet where the first international brotherhood agreement was signed.
During many years Miguel has been collecting information regarding aviation published in local newspapers between the years 1890 and 1930, and this is all compiled in a database which will be available free of charge through the internet to anyone wishing to consult the documents. He has also published the first book of the history of aviation in Mallorca, a second book on the subject of the first school of hydroaviation established in Porto Colom, and at present is working on his third book.
For his many achievements for the promotion and diffusion of the culture of aviation, Miguel has been presented with various awards, including the award ‘Flyer’ and the II Award for Aero Festivals.
In the years 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2017 he has organized Splash-Ins in the Port of Pollensa with the participation of hydro pilots from all over Europe, and in the Spring of 2021 hopefully the Coronavirus will permit the Foundation to Celebrate the V Splash-In, and at the same time the First European Hydroaviation Congress.
